LOOKING AHEAD / FUTURE PROJECTS

More ideas. More access.
More opportunity.

What could technology make possible for African entrepreneurs? Our future-project vision centres on practical apps that help people find customers, strengthen their businesses and work together.

The projects below are proposals for future development. They are not available apps, and launch dates have not been announced.

THREE PROPOSED APP PROJECTS

01 / MARKET ACCESS

A marketplace
for local enterprise.

An app concept where entrepreneurs could present their products and services, receive enquiries and build relationships with customers beyond their immediate networks.

How it could create opportunity

A maker could share a product catalogue. A service provider could explain their offer. A buyer could discover businesses by location or category and contact them directly.

What would need to work

Clear seller information, ways to report suspicious listings and simple tools for managing enquiries would be essential. Payments and delivery would need to fit the countries and communities served.

02 / BUSINESS SKILLS

Practical learning.
Everyday tools.

An app concept combining short business lessons with tools for pricing, recording expenses and planning cash flow.

How it could create opportunity

An entrepreneur could work through the costs of an order, prepare a simple quote or understand the difference between sales and profit. Lessons could connect directly to decisions they face in their business.

What would need to work

Examples would need to reflect local trading conditions, currencies and languages. Entrepreneurs should be able to keep control of their business records, with clear explanations of how any stored data is used.

03 / COLLABORATION

The right people.
Shared possibilities.

An app concept connecting entrepreneurs with potential collaborators, mentors and business opportunities relevant to their interests and location.

How it could create opportunity

A founder seeking design support could find a creative partner. A small business could discover a local supplier. Entrepreneurs could exchange experience and identify opportunities to work together.

What would need to work

Profiles and opportunities would need clear information, moderation and reporting tools. Introductions would support conversations; they would not guarantee funding, contracts or business results.

DESIGNING FOR REAL USE

Start with entrepreneurs.
Build around their needs.

Africa’s markets, languages and business communities are diverse. Each concept would need research with the people it aims to serve before decisions about features or launch locations.

Priorities for development would include low data use, clear language, accessible navigation and transparent costs. Testing with entrepreneurs would help establish which problems deserve attention first.

FROM VISION TO ACTION

Listen. Test. Build.

The next step for these proposals is to understand entrepreneurs’ daily challenges, choose a focused problem and test a small version with real users. What we learn should shape what comes next.
